Deaths and sickness are the most frightening news for us to hear especially if it hits to our loved ones. However, there are peoples who can relate this to filling up their pockets with loads of cash. Yes, there are people who get cash by giving services to the dead, you know like crematorium service for the non-muslim, creating those imitations to be burnt (chinese), grave digger (they might not charge you like hell but there are some people do this for living). Now, that there is this deadly H1N1 that haunting us everyday, some people could cash out from this deadly situation.

Price control of face mask not under domestic trade ministry

PUTRAJAYA: The price control for face masks to protect the public against the spread of Influenza A(H1N1) does not lie within the purview of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.

However, its minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob hoped face mask suppliers would be sympathetic to the nations plight by not taking advantage of the current situation with a short face mask supply, and would thus not increase the price.

The ministry has no power over the price of face mask as it is not a controlled item. I sympathise with those who have to wear a face mask and they will have a problem if it is expensive.

But if they dont wear a face mask, they are exposing themselves to the danger of H1N1 viral infection. So, I hope the suppliers and sellers will not raise the price of face masks as the country is facing the spread of Influenza A(H1N1).

Traders need to be ethical as it is a responsibility to the community, he said.

On Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lais stern warning that action would be taken against opportunistic face mask suppliers if they increase the price, Ismail Sabri said he needed to discuss the matter with Liow.

As to the fact that many pharmacies had run out of stock of face masks and whether his ministry would monitor the situation, Ismail said he had not been informed of the matter.

Although domestic trade is our area, but health items like medicine and related products also involve the Health Ministry, he said.

Ismail Sabri said he would also discuss with Liow the shortage of face masks in the market due to the rising number of A(H1N1) cases. -- Bernama

Why is this happening? Are they want to get a hell of a profit out of this life-risking situation?, or is it a normal business practice when you get high demand, price will increase? What happen to so called masyarakat penyayang thingy?? I hope that the government should do something to curb the high price of the face masks. Imagine big families that have so many children and all of them go to school everyday, playin with their friends and what not. Actually, the face masks should be changed everyday, and just think what happen if the parents are low income earners? How much will it cost to this type of people to safeguard they children in this already expensive life??

Life is beautiful, life is cruel and life is also hard.
